Sheet Metal Fabricator - Weekend Shift ($31.65+)

Location: Appleton, Wisconsin, United States; onsite weekend shift. Weekend schedule is Friday through Sunday, three 12-hour days. Training may be required Monday through Thursday on first shift.

Salary: $25.15–$26.80 per hour plus a $6.50 per-hour weekend shift premium, with the posting title indicating $31.65+.

Manufactures customized fire and emergency response trucks, including pumpers, aerials, tankers, and rescue units.

What you will do

• Check job sheets, read routings and blueprints, and set up machines for fabrication operations.
• Operate press brakes, lasers, water jets, turrets, rollers, panel benders, and related sheet metal equipment.
• Prepare, load, unload, measure, and move parts and materials through cutting and forming processes.
• Use computer systems and hand tools to support machine setup and production work.
• Identify basic machine or process issues and assist with troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and collaborate with coworkers to meet safety, quality, and production goals.

Requirements

• Previous experience with basic hand tools.
• Ability to read blueprints, tape measures, safety manuals, work orders, and manufacturing instructions.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift, use both hands for machine operation, and lift or manipulate parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to follow safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment, and respond to safety alarms and abnormal operating conditions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, work overtime, and rotate jobs as needed.

Nice to have

• One or more years of metal fabrication experience.
• Experience operating or setting up press brakes, lasers, water jets, turrets, rollers, or panel benders.
• Previous experience with Pierce as a team member or contractor.
• Experience operating a forklift or materials cart, or performing grinding, buffing, drilling, and bending.
