Senior Network Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote in Germany, with hybrid or fully onsite work available near Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg, or Munich. EU workation is available, including a summer office in Mallorca.

What you will do

• Take ownership of the new AI data centre network based on Arista EOS, BGP EVPN, VXLAN, and Leaf-Spine architecture.
• Drive infrastructure commissioning through stable production operations and maintain the existing LTG network infrastructure.
• Design, build, operate, troubleshoot, and secure complex network, server, and security systems.
• Monitor traffic and infrastructure performance, derive management KPIs, and coordinate external service providers and remote hands worldwide.
• Maintain network diagrams, runbooks, change logs, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering on Cilium BGP peering, Kubernetes node networking, and IPAM.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with complex, scalable Cisco and/or Arista networks and fabric infrastructures.
• Strong knowledge of WAN connectivity, data centre peering, uplinks, VPN, IPv6, network security, and DDoS mitigation.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Check_MK, or Zabbix, plus scripting and automation with Ansible, Terraform, Python, or similar.
• Experience with Network Access Control, BGP Flowspec, Proxmox, and IPAM systems such as NetBox.
• Basic understanding of Kubernetes networking and strong analytical, communication, conflict-handling, and problem-solving skills.
• German language skills and excellent English are required.

Nice to have

• Hands-on Leaf-Spine and BGP EVPN VXLAN experience.
• Arista certification or equivalent Cisco knowledge.
• IT apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with Nokia Deepfield or Aurologic for DDoS mitigation.
