Network Engineer

Location: Remote, Germany; approximately 25% travel and approximately 25% night-time maintenance windows required.

What you will do

• Lead remote solution delivery, network deployments, migrations, and acceptance testing.
• Support partner engineers during deployments and serve as an escalation point for technical issues.
• Review and validate Technical Deployment Package content with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with sales engineering, project management, technical support, and field service teams to resolve design and product issues.
• Maintain detailed as-built documentation for future upgrades and reference.
• Participate in customer kick-off calls and advise pre-sales teams on serviceable network designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in network engineering or a related technical role.
• Knowledge of Layer 0/1 technologies such as SDH, DWDM, ROADM, and control plane concepts, or Layer 2/3 IP protocols.
• Basic scripting or DevOps knowledge, such as Python, Java, or Ansible.
• Native German and written and verbal English fluency required.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, analyze technical data, and translate designs into deployable solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience working in matrixed teams across engineering, support, and field operations.
• Strong documentation and process development skills.
• Experience resolving technical issues under tight timelines.
