Data Risk Director

Location: Columbus, OH; office workplace

Salary: $155,000–$255,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for applicable incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Lead enterprise-wide risk management for Data Management, Data Governance, and Data Quality.
• Set the Technology Risk Program’s strategy and areas of focus.
• Own Data Management risk within the IT Risk Framework and Taxonomy, including assessments, metrics, and indicators.
• Partner with the Chief Data and Architecture Office and first-line risk groups supporting it.
• Lead quarterly Operational Pillar Risk Assessments and the annual Data Management Risk Assessment.
• Provide second-line risk coverage, oversee remediation programs, and communicate independent risk views to senior executives and the Board of Directors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of experience implementing data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and controls.
• Experience analyzing complex business processes and data governance needs with IT and business segments.
• Experience leading successful teams and managing data-centric initiatives.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and consensus-building skills.
• Ability to communicate independently on behalf of the second line of defense and influence senior executives.

Nice to have

• Experience in risk management, regulatory compliance, or communicating with regulators.
• Experience at a large firm, preferably in a leadership role.
• Financial services industry experience.
• Experience attracting, retaining, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
