Field Service Engineer (Mass Spectrometry)

Location: Remote from Phoenix, Arizona, United States; domestic and international travel may require up to 50% overnight stays.

Salary: $36.05–$39.00 per hour, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, and repair mass spectrometers, HPLC, and capillary electrophoresis instrumentation at internal and external customer sites.
• Resolve assigned customer and technical issues independently and support strategic accounts.
• Perform instrument qualification services and customer training.
• Log service activities, submit expense reports, and manage inventory administration.
• Mentor and develop less experienced staff members.

Requirements

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in life sciences, chemistry, engineering, or equivalent military electronics or avionics experience.
• At least 5 years of LCMS and/or capillary electrophoresis experience, including experience using or servicing mass spectrometry or scientific instrumentation.
• Experience with SCIEX or competitive instrumentation and the ability to meet vendor credentialing requirements.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to travel by vehicle or airplane and lift up to 50 lbs; the role also requires walking, climbing, standing, carrying materials, stooping, kneeling, and bending.

Nice to have

• Experience troubleshooting and following structured problem-solving procedures.
• Experience with electrical and electromechanical technology and required safety protocols.
