Field Service Engineer I (Mass Spectrometry)

Location: Remote from the United States, covering Morgantown and greater West Virginia as well as Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; up to 50% overnight travel may be required.

Salary: $36.05–$39.00 per hour, plus eligible bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, repair, and qualify mass spectrometers, HPLC, and capillary electrophoresis instrumentation at internal and external customer sites.
• Independently resolve assigned customer and technical issues across West Virginia and Pittsburgh.
• Deliver customer training and support customer satisfaction at strategic accounts.
• Log service activities, submit expense reports, and manage inventory administration.
• Mentor and develop less experienced staff members.

Requirements

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in life sciences, chemistry, engineering, or equivalent military electronics or avionics experience.
• Required experience with LCMS and/or capillary electrophoresis, including servicing or using mass spectrometry or scientific instrumentation.
• Experience installing, repairing, and maintaining SCIEX or competitive instrumentation.
• Meet vendor credentialing requirements.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform standing, walking, climbing, carrying, stooping, kneeling, and bending.

Nice to have

• Experience troubleshooting and following structured problem-solving procedures.
• Experience with electrical and electromechanical technology.
• Knowledge of required safety protocols.
