Field Support Technician (EV Charging)

Location: Remote, based in the United States within a reasonable distance of a major airport; regular travel to customer locations throughout the United States is required.

Salary: $60,000–$70,000 per year, plus performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Support go-live activities for new EV charging sites, including site readiness checks, on-site coordination, and risk escalation.
• Inspect new vehicles and customer assets, document findings, and verify readiness before site activation.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, plug cycles, battery replacements, and jump-starts for charging equipment and associated assets.
• Maintain accurate commissioning, inspection, and service documentation in asset management and project tracking platforms.
• Represent Highland at customer locations while maintaining strong customer service and professional conduct.
• Follow safety procedures, maintain tools and equipment, and participate in technical and project coordination training.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Computer proficiency with documentation tools, spreadsheets, and asset or project management platforms.
• Basic electrical and AC skills, with the ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Nice to have

• Automotive Technology certification from an accredited school.
• Prior project management or project coordination experience.
