R&D Engineer (Thermal Systems)

Location: Remote - US, with 25% travel to test facilities and company locations

What you will do

• Design and develop new cooling products and improvements for chillers, CDUs, and supporting systems.
• Plan and execute validation and performance testing, analyze results, and drive design changes.
• Build and iterate thermal-system prototypes in laboratory and test environments.
• Perform thermal, refrigeration, and hydronic calculations and select system components.
• Support the transition of R&D designs to manufacturing and resolve design-for-manufacturability issues.
• Document designs, test procedures, and results, incorporating field and application feedback into product improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in refrigeration, HVAC, or cooling product development.
• Hands-on experience building prototypes and testing thermal systems in a laboratory.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, heat transfer, and hydronic system design.
• Ability to analyze test data and translate results into design decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience developing chillers, CDUs, or liquid cooling systems for data centers.
• Familiarity with controls development and system instrumentation.
• Advanced degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering.
