Electrical and Instrumentation Technician (Waste-to-Energy)

Location: Dickerson, Maryland, United States; onsite at a waste-to-energy power plant

Salary: $39.86–$53.08 per hour

What you will do

• Maintain, test, diagnose, and repair low- and medium-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, motor starters, transformers, and switchyard equipment.
• Maintain electrical systems for waste-to-energy boilers, steam turbine generators, pumps, fans, motors, conveyors, refuse cranes, and air pollution control systems.
• Troubleshoot, inspect, adjust, and repair CEMS and facility instrumentation for flow, pressure, temperature, level, and flue gas analysis.
• Maintain and troubleshoot distributed control systems and historian devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including calibration, thermography, and ultrasonic testing.
• Support plant shutdowns, complete maintenance records, maintain tools and work areas, and follow safety and compliance procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three or more years of relevant experience.
• Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to qualify to wear a full-face respirator.
• Ability to complete required safety, compliance, and certification training.
