Instrument & Electrical Technician (Industrial Manufacturing)

Location: Plant-based onsite position in Texas City, Texas, United States. Working hours are Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, with indoor and outdoor industrial work.

What you will do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation, analytical equipment, electrical systems up to 13.8 kV, process controls, and safety devices.
• Inspect, install, troubleshoot, repair, modify, calibrate, and commission plant instrumentation and electrical controls.
• Support PLC, DCS, control valve, analyzer, motor, breaker, transformer, drive, and electrical distribution systems.
• Investigate equipment failures, identify root causes, and recommend solutions that improve reliability and reduce recurrence.
• Develop maintenance scopes, procedures, technical reports, and SAP documentation.
• Support planned and unplanned shutdowns, mechanical integrity programs, and preventive or predictive maintenance initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Five years of industrial experience working with instrumentation and electrical equipment.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and equipment drawings.
• Knowledge of PLC and DCS controls, SAP or an equivalent CMMS, industrial equipment, and maintenance tools.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, strong communication skills, and digital literacy.
• Ability to work in an industrial plant environment, including elevated work, confined spaces, PPE and respiratory protection, lifting up to 50 lb, on-call work, overtime, and clean-shaven requirements.

• Trade or technical degree, related apprenticeship, or equivalent military training.
