UK Sourcing Category Manager / Third Party Risk Lead

Location: Hybrid working, with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. Office locations are Dorking, London, or Basingstoke, UK.

What you will do

• Develop and execute category strategies, sourcing roadmaps, and commercial plans aligned with business priorities.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including requirements analysis, supplier evaluation, RFI/RFP processes, negotiation, contracting, and supplier selection.
• Manage strategic and critical suppliers across the supplier lifecycle, including governance, performance reviews, improvement plans, and executive forums.
• Lead or coordinate supplier due diligence, third-party risk assessments, operational resilience activities, and material outsourcing governance.
• Partner with business leaders, Legal, Risk, Compliance, and operational teams to resolve risks and improve supplier outcomes.
• Measure category, supplier, risk, and commercial performance while contributing to procurement excellence and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, relevant professional qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 5–8 years of experience in procurement, category management, supplier relationship management, or third-party risk management.
• Experience developing and delivering category, sourcing, or supplier strategies in a complex organisation.
• Experience leading complex commercial, contractual, and risk negotiations with business and control-function stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of third-party risk management, supplier due diligence, operational resilience, material outsourcing governance, and exit planning.
• Strong communication, influencing, analytical, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills, with proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Experience managing strategic or critical suppliers in a regulated environment.
• Experience in technology, professional services, marketing, business services, or other indirect procurement categories.
