Planning Engineer - Power and Water Transmission

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; onsite; full-time contract role.

What you will do

• Oversee project planning, scheduling, progress reporting, resource management, and coordination for large-scale power and water transmission projects.
• Build and maintain Primavera P6 baselines, updates, recovery and acceleration plans, and what-if scenarios.
• Develop WBS/OBS-aligned activity coding, calendars, resource and cost loading, and perform logic and critical path analysis.
• Implement earned value, physical progress curves, S-curves, milestone tracking, variance analysis, and weekly/monthly reporting.
• Create Power BI dashboards and executive-ready visuals, including SPI/CPI trends, milestone heatmaps, and risked dates.
• Coordinate with cost engineers on schedule cost loading, CBS alignment, time-phased cash flows, and planned-versus-actual cost variance analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience and proven experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 EPPM/Professional, including calendars, resources, activity coding, baselining, TIA basics, and layouts.
• Proficiency with Power BI, including data import and transformation, DAX measures, KPIs, and S-curves.
• Proficiency with Excel, including pivots, charts, lookups, and what-if analysis, plus SharePoint for data collaboration.
• Understanding of EPC workflows and construction sequencing.
• Familiarity with EOT principles and schedule impact documentation.
• Analytical approach, strong attention to detail and data quality, clear communication, organization, proactive work style, and ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
• Collaborative approach with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
