Entry Level Claims Representative

Location: Columbia, South Carolina, United States. Hybrid flexibility may allow working from home up to 3 days per week after initial in-person training.

What you will do

• Investigate, evaluate, and settle entry-level insurance claims under close supervision.
• Review insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to build product knowledge.
• Communicate with agents, insureds, claimants, legal counsel, and third parties.
• Develop negotiation, settlement, estimating, and loss-adjustment software skills.
• Complete the company’s claims training program and follow claim-handling procedures.
• Obtain and maintain adjuster licenses when required by law and company timelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in property and casualty claims handling.
• Strong written and verbal communication, report-writing, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions and resolve complex issues.
• Ability to work with confidential information and maintain data security.
• Comfort with mathematical calculations involving geometry, financial documents, sums, and unit costs.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and ability to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
