Senior Software Engineer - Risk Management (Fintech)

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid with an expectation to work onsite 3 days per week. Employees may work remotely from abroad for up to 30 additional days per year.

What you will do

• Own backend and UI products and services end-to-end, including customer-facing disputes and chargebacks platforms.
• Architect and build scalable solutions for risk management across payment methods.
• Define product and technical direction while working through complex and undefined disputes and chargeback requirements.
• Take operational responsibility for owned services, including security compliance and potential on-call participation.
• Collaborate through agile methods, pair programming, and mob programming.
• Share knowledge, mentor engineers, and improve engineering practices.

Requirements

• Multiple experiences working with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and building scalable products and services.
• Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS, and Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform.
• Experience or strong interest in disputes or chargebacks.
• Comfort making UI changes in React; full-stack experience is desirable.
• Working proficiency in English and availability to work in the hybrid Berlin setup.
