Senior Software Engineer (React/Kotlin)

Location: Berlin, Germany. Flexible hybrid work from home or the office, with the option to work from abroad for up to 40 days per year.

What you will do

• Build and evolve the digital planning and configuration platform for project layouts, floor plans, and visual representations.
• Develop interactive planning tools, 2D floor-plan generation, and 3D visualisation capabilities.
• Create frontend and backend services that generate project assets and orchestrate planning workflows across systems.
• Own solutions from design through production and deliver reliable, scalable products with engineers, product managers, and designers.
• Contribute to code quality, test-driven development, automation, and modern engineering practices.
• Explore and integrate AI-powered capabilities that improve the planning experience.

Requirements

• Strong professional full-stack engineering experience across frontend and backend systems.
• Strong experience with React and modern TypeScript-based web applications.
• Professional backend development experience with Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating systems on Azure, AWS, GCP, or a similar cloud platform.
• Experience with event-driven integrations using messaging systems, event buses, service buses, or event-streaming platforms.
• Understanding of modern design patterns and interest or experience in pair programming or mob programming.

Nice to have

• Experience with highly available and resilient systems.
• Experience building graphical or visualisation-heavy applications with Fabric.js, Three.js, WebGL, CAD-like tooling, or similar frameworks.
• Interest in experimenting with AI-powered product features.
