Bid Manager (AI)

What you will do

• Lead complex public-sector tenders, apprenticeship bids, frameworks, DPS call-offs, and commercial proposals from brief through submission, presentation, and outcome review.
• Develop bid strategy, make bid/no-bid recommendations, write high-scoring responses, and produce bespoke proposal material.
• Set bid plans, coordinate contributors across Delivery, Curriculum, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Legal, and manage senior internal and buyer stakeholders.
• Lead presentation preparation, including attendees, briefing, and rehearsal, and oversee the bid coordinator's work.
• Manage portals, framework and DPS registrations, accreditation evidence, pricing, security, social value, intellectual property, and submission compliance.
• Build the response library, bid governance, capacity-planning approach, toolstack, and reusable AI workflows for scoping, drafting, and review.

Requirements

• Proven success winning complex, high-value B2B bids, including structured tenders and proposals written from scratch.
• Demonstrable project management experience across several concurrent bids, coordinating contributors without direct line authority.
• Confidence working with directors, executive stakeholders, buyers, and evaluation panels.
• Ability to produce and review client-ready written and designed proposal material.
• Working knowledge of UK public-sector procurement, including ITTs, frameworks, DPS, and portals.
• Uses AI as a disciplined working method and checks all generated output.

Nice to have

• Experience developing bid staff and establishing bid processes and governance.
• Experience positioning responses against named competitors and planning capacity across a bid pipeline.
• Background in learning, skills, apprenticeships, professional services, or technology sold to large enterprises.
• APMP certification or experience with bid tooling such as Loopio, Bid Hive, or AutogenAI.
