Bid Manager (Security Detection)

Location: Hemel Hempstead, United Kingdom; hybrid or predominantly remote, with attendance at the Hemel Hempstead site when required

What you will do

• Lead and coordinate bid activities from opportunity identification through submission.
• Review customer contracts, terms and conditions, and identify commercial and contractual risks.
• Develop customer proposals and Statements of Work.
• Coordinate contributions from Sales, Programmes, Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, and other functions.
• Challenge cost assumptions, define mitigations, and ensure risks are properly costed.
• Prepare bid review materials, support governance and negotiations, and improve bid processes and templates.

Requirements

• Experience as a Bid Manager, Contracts Manager, Commercial Manager, or Senior Commercial Officer.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge, including experience reviewing and negotiating terms and conditions.
• Experience developing customer proposals and Statements of Work.
• Knowledge of the full contract lifecycle and strong risk management skills.
• Ability to challenge stakeholders constructively and influence decisions.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in engineering, technology, defence, manufacturing, infrastructure, or similarly complex environments.
