Principal Hardware System Design Engineer (AI)

Location: U.S. locations including the San Francisco Bay Area, Washington DC-Baltimore Area, Santa Clara County, Arlington, Boulder, and Fremont

Salary: $200,000–$300,000 per year

What you will do

• Drive the design and development of Ethernet switches, CPU subsystems, memory architectures, and networking interfaces.
• Design and integrate high-performance data-center hardware systems.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical and thermal engineering, manufacturing, and supply-chain teams.
• Perform system-level analysis, simulations, validation, and testing.
• Develop and implement hardware design methodologies, standards, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in hardware system design and complex PCB design involving high-speed SerDes and high-power ASICs.
• Experience developing CPU subsystems based on x86, ARM, PowerPC, or BMC architectures.
• Knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, electromagnetic compatibility, power management, and thermal design.
• Experience creating digital logic with VHDL and Verilog.
• Familiarity with industry standards and certifications such as UL, CE, and FCC.
