Senior Software Platform Integration Engineer (Avionics)

Location: Getafe Area, Spain; hybrid working model when possible

What you will do

• Define and maintain software requirements for onboard safety-critical computers and perform verification and validation activities.
• Lead software platform architecture for multisystem computing platforms, including partitioning, scheduling, resource allocation, and third-party software integration.
• Develop common APIs and standardized access to RTOS, BSP, low-level I/O, middleware, and platform support software.
• Design embeddable capabilities such as secure mathematical functions, file system services, and time and logging services.
• Support RTCA DO-178C certification activities and interface with certification authorities.
• Perform technical trade-off analyses, benchmarking, prototyping, and board bring-up for new multicore target platforms.

Requirements

• Advanced C programming experience for real-time embedded systems, with GNU toolchains and GCC, Clang/LLVM, or Diab compilers.
• Strong knowledge of ARM, PowerPC, or x86 architectures, SoCs, MMUs, caches, memory hierarchies, and pipelining.
• Expertise in avionics buses and networks, including ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553B, CAN, AFDX, TSN, and analog/discrete I/O.
• Experience with UART, SPI, I2C, PCIe, DMA, safety-critical RTOS, and ARINC-653.
• In-depth knowledge of RTCA DO-178C and RTCA DO-330.
• Professional negotiation-level English and proficiency in Python for automation, CI/CD, and hardware setup.

Nice to have

• Embedded Linux driver and platform software development for mission- or safety-critical systems.
• UML and SysML experience with tools such as Cameo or IBM Rhapsody.
• Experience with static analysis, structural code coverage, processor performance monitoring, and multicore interference mitigation.
• Agile experience with Jira and Confluence.
