Flight Software Engineer (Space Technology)

Location: Nigrán, Pontevedra, Spain; hybrid work with a percentage of remote work to be defined

Company

hirify.global is expanding its Alén Space team to develop flight software for satellite missions and control software for ground-segment systems.

What you will do

• Define and identify project requirements.
• Analyze and design embedded software for space-segment systems.
• Develop software modules for onboard satellite and ground-control products.
• Participate in software and complete system validation campaigns, including TLYF and E2E validation.
• Contribute to the integration and evolution of satellite onboard software across different missions and products.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in similar software engineering responsibilities.
• Experience developing software for microcontrollers.
• Knowledge of embedded software development with C and C++.
• Familiarity with real-time systems such as FreeRTOS and RTEMS, embedded Linux, and Git.
• Fluent English is required for oral communication with international clients. Experience with laboratory instrumentation such as power supplies, multimeters, and oscilloscopes is also required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python or other programming languages.
• Experience developing communication protocols.
• Experience with CAN, I2C, RS-422, SPI, or similar communication interfaces.
