Trainee in Embedded Processors, GPUs and Accelerators for Safety-Critical Avionics (HW/SW)

Location: Getafe Area, Spain; 6-month curricular practicum from February to July 2027, part time at 5 hours per day, 25 hours per week, from 8:00 to 13:00.

hirify.global Defence and Space develops aerospace and avionics solutions and offers an academic internship connected to a Bachelor's Degree Final Project.

What you will do

• Characterise a commercial embedded processing platform for representative avionics use cases.
• Set up an embedded development board and its software environment.
• Define avionics workloads and develop automated testing and benchmarking tools.
• Measure performance, predictability, and resource usage under different operating conditions.
• Assess the platform's suitability for avionics applications and prepare recommendations.
• Complete a final-year training project with continuous support from an assigned tutor.

Requirements

• Currently studying Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related degree, preferably in the final year.
• English: minimum B2 level required.
• Spanish: minimum B1 level required.
• General knowledge of C programming, computer architecture, processors, memory, peripherals, and Linux.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, teamwork, collaboration, and ability to work in an international environment.

Nice to have

• Python scripting and graphics processor programming.
• Hands-on experience with embedded boards or programmable logic.
• Knowledge of real-time operating systems, artificial intelligence on embedded devices, or safety-critical systems.
