Senior Embedded Test Automation Engineer

Location: Valencia, Spain; hybrid work with 1 office day and 4 home-office days per week

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions using Python.
• Build test harnesses, simulators, stubs, drivers, message encoders, and decoders.
• Validate integrations involving TCP/UDP, binary protocols, message brokers, gRPC, and file-based interfaces.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Create test documentation, traceability matrices, execution reports, and coverage metrics.
• Collaborate with customer engineering and development teams on validation strategies, issue investigation, and project delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in test automation, software testing, or software engineering.
• Strong Python skills and experience developing automated test solutions.
• Working knowledge of C/C++ for reading production code and adapting stubs, drivers, and message-processing components.
• Experience with non-HTTP interfaces, custom testing frameworks, simulators, or test harnesses.
• Knowledge of test design techniques, CI/CD environments, Linux administration, troubleshooting, documentation, and traceability.
• Fluent English with excellent communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in safety-critical or regulated industries such as aviation, air traffic management, rail, automotive, defence, medical devices, or energy.
• Knowledge of ASTERIX, AFTN/AMHS, OLDI, flight planning, or surveillance systems.
• Familiarity with DO-178C, DO-278A, ED-109A, or ED-153 safety standards.
• Experience with FAT/SAT, performance testing, Wireshark, tcpdump, HMI test automation, or testing leadership.
• French language skills.
