Structural Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: Dayton, Ohio, United States; office or hybrid environment

What you will do

• Design and evaluate complex metallic and composite aerospace structures.
• Perform advanced structural analysis, static and dynamic analysis, and validation.
• Develop and execute structural component test plans.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, reports, and design substantiation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to optimize structural designs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in structural engineering or a related role.
• Understanding of structural analysis, design principles, engineering practices, and computer-aided engineering tools.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams, with exposure to static and/or dynamic analyses.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods and travel occasionally.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience with MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, ANSYS, NASGRO, or AFGROW.
• Experience with finite element, fatigue, damage tolerance, or classical hand-calculation analysis.
• Experience authoring substantiation reports and working in the aerospace and defense industry.
