TL;DR

Structural Analyst (Aerospace): Performing structural analysis, sizing, and verification of spacecraft hardware with an accent on FEA and mechanical design optimization. Focus on developing finite element models, evaluating flight loading conditions, and ensuring structural integrity for high-precision PNT services.

Location: On-site in Burlingame, California. Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other protected individual.

Salary: $130,000 – $150,000

hirify.global is a navigational intelligence company developing Pulsar, an advanced PNT satellite infrastructure in Low Earth Orbit for centimeter-level positioning certainty.

What you will do

  • Perform structural analyses of aerospace components and assemblies using FEA and classical hand calculations.
  • Support the design and optimization of primary and secondary structures for strength, stiffness, fatigue, and stability.
  • Develop, refine, and validate finite element models for metallic and composite structures.
  • Evaluate structural performance under static, dynamic, thermal, vibration, and launch/flight loading conditions.
  • Create structural analysis plans, reports, and verification documentation to support flight qualification.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve structural performance while meeting mass, cost, and schedule targets.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 1+ years of structural analysis experience (including internships or research).
  • Proficiency with FEA software, preferably Femap/Nastran.
  • Experience with structural sizing and strength assessments for metallic structures and mechanical joints.
  • U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or protected individual status is required.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience building and testing spacecraft hardware from design through production.
  • Experience with spacecraft structural verification and environmental testing (vibration, acoustic, shock).
  • Ability to work directly with CAD geometry, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Experience developing analysis automation tools using Python, MATLAB, or Femap API.
  • Interest or experience in thermal analysis.
