Automation Engineer (Industrial Robotics)

Location: Dresden, Germany; regular on-site work at customer locations is required

What you will do

• Configure, parameterize, commission, and operate industrial robots from multiple manufacturers.
• Integrate robots, PLCs, and peripheral devices into industrial automation environments.
• Support electrical commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and customer-site deployments.
• Translate customer robotics requirements into NOVA-based applications, workflows, and functionality using Python.
• Collaborate with Software, Product, Robotics Engineering, and Customer Projects teams on technical challenges and new use cases.
• Turn project learnings into reusable solutions and provide structured feedback for product development.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with industrial robotics, automation, robot programming, parameterization, and commissioning.
• Experience with at least one major robot manufacturer, such as KUKA, ABB, Yaskawa, FANUC, or Stäubli.
• Experience with industrial automation systems, customer-site commissioning, PLC programming, and electrical commissioning.
• Good knowledge of Python and a basic understanding of software architecture and modern development practices.
• Qualification as a certified electrical specialist, qualified electrician, or comparable professional qualification is preferred.
• German and English language skills at B2 level or above, plus willingness to work regularly on-site at customer locations.

Nice to have

• Experience with several different robot manufacturers and complete automation systems from planning through commissioning.
• Experience with industrial communication systems and interfaces.
• Experience bringing automation technologies into real production environments.
