Hardware Design Engineer (Data-Center Hardware)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States — on-site

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 base salary plus equity per year

What you will do

• Develop complex networking systems from architecture and schematic design through production.
• Design Ethernet switches, high-speed circuit boards, high-power ASIC systems, and SerDes interfaces.
• Integrate CPU, memory, management, optical, and networking subsystems.
• Design power architectures, sequencing, and AC/DC or DC/DC conversion solutions.
• Perform signal-integrity, power-integrity, EMC, simulation, validation, and testing activities.
• Lead board bring-up, hardware debugging, product qualification, and production ramp in collaboration with software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, and supply-chain teams.

Requirements

• Ownership of complex hardware or board designs from concept through production.
• Experience designing systems with high-speed SerDes and high-power ASICs.
• Experience with x86, ARM, PowerPC, or BMC-based subsystems.
• Strong knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, EMC, power delivery, and thermal-management requirements.
• Digital logic design experience with VHDL or Verilog.
• Familiarity with UL, CE, or FCC requirements and experience shipping multiple generations of commercial hardware.

• Experience with networking, telecom, server, storage, or comparable high-performance systems.
