Etch Process Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Newport, United Kingdom; occasional domestic and international travel, including to the United States, and occasional shift work may be required.

hirify.global develops semiconductor inspection, metrology, process solutions, and analytics systems, including SPTS wafer processing technologies for etch, deposition, and vapor-based manufacturing.

What you will do

• Develop plasma etch processes and process customer wafers using demonstration equipment.
• Develop and optimise process recipes across SPTS technologies to meet customer requirements.
• Evaluate process results using metrology equipment and software, including endpoint detection techniques.
• Troubleshoot process issues and perform reliability and marathon testing for new processes and equipment.
• Provide technical support at customer sites and build effective customer relationships.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, patent documentation, and other technical communications.

Requirements

• BSc/BEng in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with metrology techniques such as Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
• Knowledge of endpoint detection techniques; hands-on experience is desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and contribute effectively to collaborative teams.
