Reconciliations Team Leader (Fintech)

Location: Manchester, UK; hybrid working with at least 50% of working time per month in the office. New starters initially work full-time from the office.

Salary: £35,000 starting salary per year

What you will do

• Lead the day-to-day reconciliation function, covering client money, safe custody assets and SIPP trustee bank accounts.
• Oversee CASS funding, SIPP rebalancing, reconciliation exceptions, break trends and funding exposures.
• Lead, coach and develop administrators and senior administrators while managing workload, attendance and resource planning.
• Own the reconciliation platform and automated controls, including designing, testing and implementing new reconciliations and automation solutions.
• Configure reconciliation rules, matching logic and exception management processes, and investigate system issues through root cause analysis.
• Work with Technology, Change teams, suppliers, auditors and internal stakeholders to improve controls, efficiency and operational resilience.

Requirements

• Experience leading, coaching and developing operational teams.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, planning, prioritisation and decision-making skills.
• Detailed knowledge of reconciliation methodologies, break management and exception management.
• Understanding of FCA CASS requirements, particularly CASS 6, 7, 8 and 10.
• Understanding of operational risk and control frameworks in a regulated financial services environment.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and produce and interpret management information and trend analysis.

Nice to have

• CISI Investment Operations Certificate, including the CASS module.
• Other relevant financial services qualifications, including CII qualifications.
