Senior Core Design Verification Engineer (CPU)

Location: On-site in Penang, Malaysia

What you will do

• Develop verification plans, test benches, and environments for comprehensive CPU logic functional coverage.
• Execute simulation models to validate CPU microarchitecture, analyze power and timing, and identify design bugs.
• Debug and root-cause issues in pre-silicon environments and implement corrective actions for failing tests.
• Collaborate with CPU architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams on performance, power, and functional goals.
• Maintain and enhance functional verification methodologies and infrastructure.
• Document test plans, lead technical reviews, and contribute to new CPU architectural and microarchitectural features.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of CPU design verification experience; alternatively, a master's degree with 2+ years of experience or a PhD with no prior professional experience.
• Proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM for pre-silicon verification.
• Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, Perl, and C/C++.
• Solid understanding of CPU architecture and microarchitecture fundamentals.
• Experience debugging CPU or DFx issues in pre-silicon environments and solving complex technical problems.
• Ability to work on-site in Penang, Malaysia.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of TAP and DFx methodologies.
• Experience with ASIC or FPGA design verification, especially x86 CPU designs.
• Familiarity with emulation, FPGA prototyping, and post-silicon validation or debugging.
• Experience with fault-simulation tools and methodologies.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
