Senior Controls Engineer (MedTech)

Location: Gelang Patah, Johor, Malaysia; based at the Malaysia facility

What you will do

• Lead controls activities for equipment enhancement projects in cleanroom manufacturing areas.
• Install, start up, troubleshoot, and improve control systems for high-speed assembly, packaging, and process equipment.
• Develop and review wiring diagrams, control logic, safety systems, and equipment documentation.
• Coordinate technical work with system integrators and vendors.
• Create and improve machine vision programs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Research equipment data, assess feasibility, identify root causes, and develop control systems from scratch.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on assembly and manufacturing experience, including clean-sheet design and continuous improvement for discrete component assembly equipment.
• Proficiency with PLCs, servo drives, HMIs, vision systems, safety systems, communication protocols, and system integration.
• Rockwell Automation experience, including RSLogix5000 and FTView ME, is required.
• Experience with high-volume, high-speed, high-precision manufacturing equipment and complex industrial systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, documentation, multitasking, and project management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with B&R controls software and hardware.
• Experience with imaging systems and software.
• Knowledge of SQL Server databases and Visual Basic programming.
• Experience with AB Powerflex and Kinetix drives.
