E-core CPU Physical Design Engineer (CPU)

Location: Penang, Malaysia; hybrid work model with time split between the assigned hirify.global site and off-site work.

What you will do

• Implement CPU core and core IP blocks from logic synthesis through post-layout verification and tapeout.
• Develop custom constraints for synthesis and automatic place-and-route flows.
• Perform floor-planning, routing studies, block and subsystem timing analysis, and timing closure.
• Apply low-power techniques and optimize subsystem power consumption.
• Drive physical verification closure, including DRC/LVS, IR, electromigration, noise, crosstalk, and OCV analysis.
• Write Tcl scripts for data analysis and recipe creation while collaborating with micro-architecture, RTL, and custom circuit teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• At least 6 years of experience in CPU physical design and timing verification.
• Experience with synthesis and APR flows for multi-voltage, high-frequency designs, including custom polygon editing.
• Experience with Tcl scripting, floor-planning, physical design, and timing closure.
• Experience with formal equivalence, DRC/LVS, IR, electromigration, noise, crosstalk, and OCV analysis.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup based in Penang, Malaysia, including on-site work at the assigned hirify.global site.

Nice to have

• 7 or more years of experience with the required skill set.
• Experience with Fusion Compiler, DCT, DCE, ICC2, RedHawk, ICV, Conformal, Calibre, PrimeTime, or StarRCXT.
• Experience with Cadence tools.
