Senior Engineer (AOI)

Location: Seremban, Malaysia; onsite manufacturing role

What you will do

• Create, modify, validate, and optimize AOI inspection programs for SMT, PCB, and electronics production.
• Analyze inspection results, defect trends, yield, and machine-performance KPIs to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Troubleshoot AOI equipment, software, and process issues while coordinating technical escalations with equipment vendors.
• Support new product introduction through process qualification, inspection-strategy development, capability studies, and program validation.
• Plan preventive maintenance, monitor calibration and equipment performance, and maintain spare-parts and service readiness.
• Train operators and technicians, prepare work instructions and SOPs, and present improvement actions to management.

Requirements

• Senior-level engineering experience in AOI, SMT, PCB, or electronics manufacturing environments.
• Experience with AOI program development, inspection-parameter tuning, defect classification, and false-call reduction.
• Ability to perform root-cause analysis, CAPA, process monitoring, and continuous-improvement activities.
• Knowledge of equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, calibration, and technical documentation.
• Ability to collaborate with manufacturing, process, quality, and maintenance teams, as well as customers and suppliers.
