Litigation Attorney (Insurance Defense)

Location: Diamond Bar, California, United States

Salary: $132,800–$219,100 annual base salary, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Independently manage higher-exposure insurance defense cases and complex litigation from inception through trial and appeal.
• Try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions using advanced litigation skills.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other substantive legal documents.
• Attend hearings, trials, depositions, court events, and other appointments; travel as required.
• Provide case analysis and handling recommendations to insured clients and Claims partners.
• Develop case strategies with expert witnesses and consultants, manage relationships, deliver legal training, and mentor attorneys and legal support staff.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney, including insurance defense litigation.
• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license in good standing to practice law in the state or states where representation is required.
• Proven experience handling jury trials, hearings, depositions, dispositive motions, or other court proceedings.
• Advanced oral and written advocacy, legal research, negotiation, decision-making, and case analysis skills.
• A valid driver's license may be required depending on the location.
