Subrogation Trial Attorney (Insurance)

Location: Hamilton, New Jersey, United States; hybrid schedule with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote

Salary: USD 130,000–168,000 per year

What you will do

• Represent Selective in the prosecution and defense of litigated subrogation claims.
• Manage assigned cases from investigation and inception through resolution.
• Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct legal research, and develop litigation strategies.
• Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs.
• Prepare for and handle trials, appeals, depositions, court appearances, and related litigation activities.
• Advise subrogation claims professionals, communicate with courts and opposing counsel, and help develop claims training materials.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the New Jersey Bar is required; Pennsylvania admission is preferred.
• 7+ years of legal experience and 5+ years of subrogation experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, oral communication, litigation, analytical, and independent judgment skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Edge or Chrome, legal case management software, and typing.
• Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing is required.

• Trial experience.
• Multi-state Bar admission.
• Experience with Litify and dictation software.
• Knowledge of the insurance business unit, industry, state laws, and local court procedures.
