Engineer - Power & Environment - Groundworks

Location: Sutton Coldfield Transmitting Station and hirify.global Site near Droitwich, United Kingdom; travel required around the West Midlands

Salary: Up to £45,000 per year, plus a 5% shift allowance and paid overtime

What you will do

• Troubleshoot, service, and maintain electrical, power, ventilation, and environmental systems.
• Test and validate new power and environmental infrastructure solutions.
• Respond to faults and outages, complete corrective maintenance, and perform inspection electrical testing.
• Support project planning and execution while managing technical risks and regulatory compliance.
• Supervise third-party suppliers and contractors to ensure delivery meets specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and provide technical support or training.

Requirements

• Experience in power and environmental engineering, with knowledge of power supplies, environmental controls, and analogue and digital electronics.
• Understanding of electrical and ventilation engineering principles, diagnostic tools, telemetry, monitoring, site management, cabling, and tooling.
• Knowledge of relevant systems such as RF, DVB, analogue radio, DAB, microwave, satellite communications, data networks, and telecoms.
• Familiarity with generator and power generation systems, industry standards, safety regulations, and risk management.
• 18th Edition / City & Guilds 2382 and City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent.
• A degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field is advantageous; a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent is accepted.
