Project Engineer (Data Centres & Industrials)

What you will do

• Own project programmes and development budgets from concept design through design freeze and financial close.
• Manage siting, connection applications, planning, consents, procurement, long-lead items, consultants, ICPs, and study providers.
• Own electrical concepts including single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, cable routes, metering, communications architecture, and design sign-off.
• Direct technical studies covering load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, earthing, and power quality.
• Lead DNO, TO, and NESO grid interfaces, including connection offers, technical requirements, securities, milestones, and ICP/IDNO coordination.
• Manage capex, value engineering, FAT/SAT witnessing, commissioning, energisation, and handover.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent in electrical or power systems engineering; CEng is welcome but not essential.
• 5+ years of experience delivering energy or infrastructure projects, with strong MV and HV systems knowledge.
• Infrastructure experience with substations, networks, industrial plants, data centres, utilities, water, or transport, including consents, easements, live-asset tie-ins, and construction sequencing.
• Experience personally owning a programme and budget on a development or pre-construction project.
• Experience taking a GB or European grid connection from connection offer through grid code compliance and energisation, with knowledge of the Grid Code, CUSC, SQSS, G99/G100, ENA engineering recommendations, and BS 7671.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site.
