Customer Order Engineer

Location: Office/Site only in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. Travel to customer sites, suppliers, and manufacturing facilities is required for less than 10% of the time.

What you will do

• Support customer requirements for new and service orders involving large electric generators.
• Develop design assessments and release engineering information for generator rotors, stators, exciters, and collectors.
• Create and revise design specifications and support product improvements.
• Provide technical guidance to manufacturing, troubleshoot issues, review processes, and resolve product deviations.
• Perform engineering calculations, prepare programs and material specifications, support tests, and approve engineering drawings.
• Provide technical support during order negotiations and communicate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university; a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in a related engineering field.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and rotating electric machines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and 2D/3D CAD software; Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and SAP experience is preferred.
• Strong calculation, technical analysis, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
