Mechanical Engineer III (Clean Energy)

Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA; onsite role with occasional travel to hirify.global facilities and vendor sites

What you will do

• Design and integrate complex mechanical systems and components while optimizing performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
• Provide technical leadership and serve as the primary mechanical engineering subject matter expert across product development programs.
• Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, specifications, assembly instructions, and design reports.
• Develop and execute verification, validation, DFMEA, and DVP&R activities with internal and external testing resources.
• Support supplier qualification, component validation, PPAP reviews, manufacturing launch readiness, and production issue resolution.
• Communicate technical recommendations and design decisions to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with 3D modeling in Creo and FEA using Creo Simulate or ANSYS.
• Knowledge of sheet metal and plastic component manufacturing techniques.
• Ability to solve complex engineering problems, make decisions, and work effectively in a dynamic environment with ambiguity.
• Candidates requiring sponsorship now or in the future, including OPT or H-1B transfer, cannot be considered.

Nice to have

• Experience with GD&T, statistical tolerance stack-up, machine design, and electrical enclosure design.
• Experience with agency certification, power electronics integration, DFM, and DFA.
• Experience leading reliability testing and product validation activities.
• Experience with Windchill or a similar product lifecycle management system.
