Engineer Staff, HW Development (Optical Modules)

What you will do

• Develop and execute R&D test plans for high-speed optical modules across EVT, EDVT, DVT, ODVT, and customer qualification phases.
• Integrate, debug, tune, and optimize optical modules containing lasers, DSPs, PICs, TIAs, drivers, and control circuits.
• Correlate optical and electrical measurements, DSP status, register settings, telemetry data, and system-level results.
• Perform system-level validation with optical modules, switches, traffic testers, reference modules, optical fibers, and test equipment.
• Lead design of experiments, performance optimization, and root-cause analysis with optical, hardware, DSP, firmware, system, supplier, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Own assigned tests, track progress and issues, support customer sample testing, and prepare validation data and technical reports.

Requirements

• Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience or Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in optical communications, optical module development, high-speed electronics, or R&D testing.
• Strong understanding of optical module architecture and components including lasers, PICs, TOSA, ROSA, DSPs, drivers, TIAs, SerDes, MPDs, and management interfaces.
• Experience with optical module integration, performance debugging, parameter tuning, system-level optimization, test planning, data analysis, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of IEEE 802.3 Ethernet standards and CMIS 5.2/5.3 management specifications.
• Experience with Python, JMP, Excel, or other data analysis and test automation tools is preferred.
• Good English proficiency equivalent to CET-6 or above, including reading, speaking, and writing.
