Service Representative, Brokerage Placement – Commercial Lines

Salary: $22.00–$24.00 per hour

What you will do

• Handle policy status requests, certificates of insurance, renewal follow-ups, and related service activities by phone and electronically.
• Support underwriters and agencies with policy transactions and aim to complete work accurately on the first submission.
• Accept, modify, or decline lower-complexity business and determine risk classifications, applicable markets, qualifying risks, and endorsement acceptability.
• Research information from multiple sources to support underwriting analysis and review risks against carrier guidelines, state regulations, and surplus lines requirements.
• Collaborate with agents, internal teams, external partners, and brokerage specialists while meeting agreed service-level timelines.
• Build agency relationships, improve processes, and contribute to profitable growth in policies in force and premium.

Requirements

• One year of related insurance experience preferred; an undergraduate degree may be considered in lieu of experience.
• Undergraduate studies in business administration or a related field preferred.
• P&C and Surplus Lines licenses, or an L&H license where required by the product line, must be obtained within 45 days.
• Ability to evaluate commercial risks using multiple carriers' underwriting guidelines and applicable state regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with agencies and internal and external partners while meeting service-level agreements.
