Senior Corporate Counsel, Intellectual Property Litigation (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Mateo, California, with two days per week in the San Mateo office

Base salary: $246,700–$370,100 USD per year

What you will do

• Manage high-stakes intellectual property litigation involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, PlayStation video games, and products.
• Work with outside counsel on litigation strategy and manage litigation budgets.
• Respond to third-party subpoenas and requests for information, documents, or witness testimony.
• Advise leadership and business partners on litigation risks, pre-litigation disputes, dispute resolution, and legal risk mitigation.
• Develop policies, procedures, playbooks, and guidelines for intellectual property matters.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the UK, Europe, and Asia on international disputes and mentor attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Current membership in good standing of a U.S. state bar; California Bar membership is preferred.
• If not admitted in California, eligibility to obtain Registered In-House Counsel status in California promptly upon hire and maintain it throughout employment.
• At least 12 years of experience as in-house litigation counsel and/or outside counsel litigating intellectual property cases in federal and state courts, including at least four years at a law firm.
• Experience with complex patent litigation and advising business leaders on dispute resolution and legal risk.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication, negotiation, analytical, and judgment skills.
