Moderation Operations Lead (AI/Trust & Safety)

Location: Seattle, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days per week

Salary: $111,467–$206,172 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Lead human-based moderation operations for TikTok Shop, covering efficiency, accuracy, cost, and operational quality.
• Manage moderation enforcement for product listings, creators, and content.
• Lead internal operations and quality teams while managing remote BPO vendors and performance targets.
• Use operational data and root cause analysis to improve governance policies, moderator tools, and systems.
• Build AI-based solutions for moderator training, coaching, and upskilling.
• Plan staffing and operational contingencies for normal business periods, seasonality, and demand peaks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of BPO vendor management experience, including at least 2 years leading teams in a high-growth technology environment.
• Experience managing mid-to-large-scale operational or technical teams; moderation, trust and safety, or risk operations experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of AI concepts and their application to daily operations.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous, matrixed environments.
• Proficiency in using data for insights and decision-making, including root cause analysis.
• Ability to work fully onsite in Seattle, with in-person attendance up to 5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in highly regulated or audited environments, including US government, finance, or technology sectors.
• Knowledge of US e-commerce marketplaces, seller fraud, and consumer protection.
• Experience implementing automated workflows or LLM agents to improve operational efficiency.
• Experience building operational mechanisms from scratch in fast-paced environments.
