Lead, Data Center Security Delivery (Construction to Operations) (AI)

Location: Remote-friendly with required travel; San Francisco, Seattle, or New York City. Staff are expected to be in one of the offices at least 25% of the time.

Salary: $290,000–$365,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Own physical security delivery across multiple data center campuses from groundbreaking through construction, commissioning, acceptance, and handover.
• Coordinate temporary site security, contractor vetting and access, equipment protection, general contractors, integrators, and site teams.
• Define and run security acceptance criteria, including FAT/SAT, punch lists, commissioning gates, and formal sign-off.
• Verify operator readiness, including staffing, guard force, SOPs, commissioned monitoring systems, and contractual security obligations.
• Own turnover packages containing as-builts, test records, credentials, punch-list closure, and residual-risk registers.
• Represent security in design reviews, OAC meetings, and change management while escalating schedule and readiness risks.

Requirements

• Personal experience delivering physical security for new-build data centers or comparable critical-infrastructure projects through design, construction, commissioning, and operational turnover.
• Experience running milestone or commissioning acceptance processes, including FAT/SAT, punch lists, turnover documentation, and formal sign-off.
• Experience holding operators, landlords, or vendors accountable for contractual security obligations using documented evidence.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent construction sites and drive each toward handover.
• Ability to author, implement, and revise security requirements, standards, and delivery processes.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

Nice to have

• CPP, PSP, or commissioning certification.
• Hyperscaler or major colocation new-build delivery experience.
• Experience on both sides of an operator/tenant relationship.
• Construction management or owner’s-representative background.
• Experience in regulated or high-assurance environments.
