Wound Closure and Healing R&D Device Summer Intern (MedTech)

Location: Raritan, New Jersey, United States; onsite. Full-time internship from May through August 2027, 40 hours per week.

Salary: $23.50–$52.50 per hour.

What you will do

• Support engineers with R&D activities for Ethicon Biosurgery projects.
• Perform mechanical and laboratory testing, post-test analysis, and engineering activities across multiple projects.
• Assist with assembly of prototype devices.
• Create and update parts, assemblies, and drawings in SolidWorks CAD.
• Write reports, test methods, protocols, and other design-control documentation.
• Attend team meetings and communicate project issues or opportunities to management.

Requirements

• Completion of the undergraduate freshman year at an accredited university.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, bioengineering, or a related field.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
• Knowledge of CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Permanent authorization to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship is required.
• Generally requires 0–2 years of work experience; no certifications or licenses are required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of statistics.
• Knowledge of 3D printing or other prototyping methods.
• Previous laboratory experience.
