Mechanical Engineering & System Packaging Intern (SolidWorks/Creo)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; onsite work with access to engineering, machining, prototyping, assembly, materials characterization, and metrology facilities.

Salary: $20.00–$45.00 per hour base salary.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and enhance engineering solutions for challenging technical problems.
• Create detailed mechanical designs using 3-D CAD software, including SolidWorks and/or PTC Creo.
• Analyze system performance through simulations, including finite element analysis with tools such as Ansys.
• Implement and test solutions, analyze collected data, and provide engineering documentation.
• Generate and present test reports with plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions.
• Work with engineers, technicians, machine shop operators, and fabrication and assembly facilities on live programs.

Requirements

• Enrollment in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments, risks, and vulnerabilities.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Applicants selected for the position may be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with SolidWorks, PTC Creo, Ansys, 3-D CAD, finite element analysis, drawing creation, tolerancing, or design for manufacturability.
