Fullstack Software Engineer (Medtech)

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to South San Francisco, CA (Hybrid: 3 days/week onsite)

Salary: $111,000–$140,000

What you will do

• Build and maintain React and TypeScript frontends used by scientists for daily operations.
• Develop Python-based backend services and integrations for lab instruments, Benchling, and agent runtimes.
• Own features end-to-end, from initial design and data modeling to UI implementation and monitoring.
• Collaborate with machine learning, automation, and biology teams to build practical, agentic tooling.
• Observe lab workflows firsthand to design tools that improve scientific productivity and data verifiability.

Requirements

• 2–4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of AWS or GCP and relational databases.
• Proficiency in standard engineering practices including version control and code review.
• Ability to work onsite in South San Francisco, CA, three days per week.
• Strong product instinct and interest in learning the drug development domain.

Nice to have

• Experience with LIMS, lab automation, or life sciences domains.
• Experience building with LLMs or agent frameworks.
• Familiarity with Django, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, or Docker.
