Full Stack Software Engineering Intern (AI)

Location: Onsite in New York City, Monday through Friday, for the full Summer 2027 internship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation: $40–$80 per hour, excluding bonuses, equity, and other compensation components.

What you will do

• Own a scoped full-stack project from design through deployment with guidance from experienced engineers.
• Build user-facing workflows with React and TypeScript.
• Develop Python APIs and services that ingest, transform, and serve structured and unstructured data.
• Design data models and schemas and implement logic for parsing, associating, and validating data from multiple sources.
• Use version control, code review, testing, and structured debugging to deliver maintainable code.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and Forward Deployment teams; present the project results and recommended next steps at the end of the internship.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical discipline, with expected graduation between December 2027 and May 2028.
• Ability to work onsite in New York, Monday through Friday, for the full Summer 2027 internship.
• Foundational programming experience in Python and JavaScript or TypeScript, including object-oriented or functional programming concepts.
• Experience building a web application end to end through coursework, projects, research, hackathons, or a prior internship.
• Working familiarity with Git or a similar version control system, relational databases, and REST APIs.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, independent learning, and ability to incorporate feedback.

Nice to have

• Experience with React and TypeScript in a real project.
• Experience designing data schemas or working with messy, real-world datasets.
• Exposure to GCP, Docker, LLM or other AI APIs, 3D visualization, or spatial data.
• Interest in industrial, defense, or infrastructure applications where reliability matters.
