TL;DR
Mechanical Engineer (PSP) (Fluidics/Semiconductor Equipment): Designing and validating chemical and gas handling systems for engineered-to-order wet processing equipment with an accent on fluidic architectures, precision components, safety, and reliability. Focus on translating customer specifications into manufacturable designs, executing system validation, and troubleshooting assemblies during bring-up.

Location: Horsham, Pennsylvania, United States; domestic and international travel up to 10%.

Salary: $75,000–$95,000 per year, plus bonus opportunity.

What you will do

  • Design and optimize fluid handling and plumbing architectures for wet processing equipment.
  • Translate customer specifications into system designs and detailed engineering documentation.
  • Select and integrate valves, regulators, sensors, pumps, and other fluidic components for high-purity chemical and gas handling.
  • Lead design reviews and balance technical, manufacturing, cost, safety, and reliability requirements.
  • Develop and execute validation test plans under real-world process conditions.
  • Support assembly, system bring-up, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of fluidics design practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 2 years of experience in capital equipment design.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD or equivalent 3D CAD systems.
  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics, including flow, pressure drop, and heat transfer calculations.
  • Experience specifying and integrating fluidic components and instrumentation for chemical or gas handling applications.
  • Ability to interpret SEMI standards, apply safety practices, present technical information, and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Familiarity with PLM tools such as SAP and structured ECO processes.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with automation, motion control, or control systems.
  • Background in fluid systems design for complex equipment or industrial applications.
