Field Service Engineer-1 (Switchgear)

Location: Remote, U.S.-based, with travel of up to 75% across Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Relocation assistance is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $89,210–$133,810 per year.

What you will do

• Perform startup, preventative maintenance, testing, repair, and advanced electrical services for generator paralleling controls and switchgear systems.
• Support warranty claims, remedial repairs, preventative maintenance contracts, and on-call customer service across the assigned territory.
• Troubleshoot customer issues with the Product Support Center and collaborate with dealer service and sales teams.
• Train internal technicians and external customers on maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and equipment testing.
• Document service activity, expenses, projects, product quality issues, and performance improvements.
• Evaluate manufacturing and production processes and recommend design or quality improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred, or at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
• At least 2 years of related experience or 4 years of equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of power systems, switchgear, automatic transfer switches, and generator systems, with the ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Experience with automation and controls, including PLC-based systems, HMIs, and distributed control systems; PLC experience with Modicon/Schneider, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or GE.
• Experience working with engineers, contractors, consultants, and end users, plus a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to meet background, drug, medical, and potential U.S. Government clearance requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rockwell FactoryTalk, Siemens, Vijeo, iFix, or Wonderware HMIs.
• U.S. Navy Nuclear Power Electrician experience.
