New Model Program Engineer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Manage the launch of new vehicle and powertrain programs in North American manufacturing plants.
• Serve as a gatekeeper for new model programs and oversee pre-production build events.
• Order, build, test, evaluate, and manage the final disposition of pre-production vehicles.
• Lead build issue management, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive part support issues to resolution.
• Manage launch budget approvals, prepare weekly program assessments, and communicate status, risks, challenges, and proposed solutions to senior management.
• Facilitate the transition and integration of launch teams into manufacturing plants and travel as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; an engineering or related technical degree is preferred.
• 4+ years of experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
• 2+ years of experience applying problem-solving disciplines with statistical mindsets.
• At least 1 year of experience in powertrain or vehicle operations manufacturing, design, or program management, including project management or launch experience.
• Program management experience focused on issue tracking and cross-functional resolution.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Experience bringing new vehicle models from development into full-scale production.
• Experience with Engineering Change Management and Issue Management.
• Manufacturing and program management experience.
